Honoring Our Nation’s Oldest Veteran, Emma Didlake

At 110, Emma Didlake, Our Nation’s Oldest Living Veteran is scheduled to Meet President Obama

WATERFORD TWP., Mich. (July 15, 2015) – Emma Didlake, 110-year-old Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps World War II Veteran, will take a special Honor Flight this week. Members of Talons Out Honor Flight will accompany Didlake and her granddaughter Marilyn Horne Friday, July 17 to Washington, D.C.  President Obama is scheduled to welcome Didlake to the White House, followed by visits to the World War II memorial, her favorite President’s memorial – Franklin D. Roosevelt – and the Women in Military Service museum.

Due to her age, Didlake is resting up for her trip. Talons Out asks members of the media to please respect her privacy, holding off interviews until flight day.   A Media Meet and Greet will be held at the Oakland Air Facility (6740 S. Service Dr. Waterford, MI), located at the Oakland County International Airport in Waterford Township prior to boarding the plane, Friday July 17, 7:30-8:00 a.m.

The public is invited to welcome Miss Emma home from her Honor Flight at the Oakland County Airport (3900 Highland Road) Friday evening. Arrival time is scheduled for 7:30pm at the main terminal.
